My Brother’s Crown combines modern day happenings in Virginia with a story from France in the 1600’s. The connection is shown in an intriguing and detailed way. I learned a lot about the history of the Hugenot’s.
There is much to be learned from reading this great story. I look forward to the next book in the series.

My Brother’s Crown is like reading two books in one as the story goes back and forth between 1685 France to present day Virginia following cousins story and a quest to uncover their family’s mysterious past and the impact it has on the future.
This is an amazing historical story full of suspense, mystery, religious persecution, romance, danger, love and strong faith. The strong characters drew me into their lives and had me on the edge of my seat during the tense, dangerous scenes and kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen next. The author’s research is shown in the historical details and descriptions and I could picture everything in my minds-eye as I read. A well written and captivating story.

This is a compelling look at life in 1685 France.
I am amazed at the vast cast of incredibly well developed and written characters there are in both time periods. A number of them grew and matured over the course of the story which was wonderful. I really enjoyed reading of the faith and belief in God that was contained, especially in the historical segments.
I was fascinated with the pamphlet that had survived from 1685 and how it was used to tie the two time periods together. Before reading this book I had only heard the term Huguenots. I didn’t know anything at all about them or the persecution that they faced. Now that I have read this wonderful book I think I will be trying to learn more about their lifestyle and the trials they faced as a group.

“This is a very different genre than I normally read, but the history and struggles in 17th century France were very interesting, and I enjoyed both time frames that were represented in this very educational book. I highly recommend reading My Brother’s Crown. It’s an excellent depiction of a time frame that is deep with controversy.”

“My Brother’s Crown came in the mail yesterday and I completed it today. It was such a great read!! I love historical fiction, and I especially love it when it is combined with a modern day connection. The story line is very interesting, one I wasn’t familiar with, which provoked me to research the Huguenots. My only complaint….now I have to wait for the next book in the series.”
"Being somewhat of a science buff and puzzle lover, I enjoyed the two main characters and their chemistry and puzzle solving. I have enjoyed all of the books these ladies have coauthored, but I believe this one is my favorite. I cannot wait for the next book!"

This is a wonderful book that I highly recommend."

Mindy and Leslie do not disappoint. This book is reminiscent of Mindy’s first series the Million Dollar Mysteries.
The present day characters are very believable. I could not put the book down. It is classic Mindy Starns Clark - Romance and Mystery. The historical portions are also very interesting.
I couldn’t wait to start the second book in the series.
