We all feel weak sometimes. He Is Strong encourages you to rest in God’s help and strength for every one of your inadequacies.

Whether you think of yourself as overwhelmed, overlooked, or just not very good at life (or perhaps you avoid facing your own shortcomings), Emily shares relatable stories about her own feelings of weakness and points you to the gospel for wisdom, hope, and comfort. As the familiar hymn says, “They are weak, but he is strong.”

From the very first pages one can sense the depth and heart of this book. Emily speaks openly about some of her frailties and makes herself vulnerable to exalt the power of the Gospel that responds and brings hope in each area of weakness she mentions. God really is our true helper and sustainer in our inadequacies! I’m grateful for this book and recommend it to all who wish to learn how to face and see weakness through the lens of the Gospel.

I’m positive there has never been a devo that has pulled thoughts out of my very head and shown me how to speak to them through scripture as well as He is Strong. How many of us sang Jesus loves me in our lifetime? In this 30-day devotion, Emily Jensen walks us through all the ways that we may feel inadequate and weak. And all the more ways that Jesus is more than adequate and strong. Emily does a phenomenal job bringing in real life situations and tying it back to the gospel showing us that our strength is in Christ alone. My only wish for this book was that it was more than 30 days. This will be in a constant rotation during my quiet time. What a beautiful work of art!

“Emily’s invitation to embrace our weakness because God is strong will give you hope and encouragement for life’s most challenging circumstances. Her personal stories and reflections along the way are a gift to any reader!”
—Ruth Chou Simons, Wall Street Journal bestselling author, artist, and founder of GraceLaced

“When we feel weak and insufficient, it’s tempting to try to overcome our lack of power by working harder. Or perhaps we give up altogether and claim the impossibility of moving forward in our weaknesses. Thankfully, Emily Jensen’s new devotional book, He Is Strong, gives us a better option. With refreshing honesty and biblical wisdom, Emily turns our eyes away from ourselves and onto Jesus—the One who is able to give us strength when we are weary and courage when we are fearful.”
—Melissa Kruger, author and director of women’s initiatives for The Gospel Coalition

“To believe that even in our deepest inability—in our abject weakness—God still loves us and is in fact for us is, in my estimation, the greatest desire of the human heart. In He Is Strong, Emily Jensen rehearses the strong grace of Christ available for the weakest of believers like you and me. Full of refreshing transparency and clear biblical application, these devotions will strengthen your soul and stir your affections for Jesus.”
—Jared C. Wilson, pastor, professor, and author of Love Me Anyway

“For every woman who feels beset with weakness, utterly aware of her need for strength beyond herself, He Is Strong offers time-tested wisdom to fortify the weary soul. Emily Jensen’s writing wraps the reader with a comforting hug of encouragement and leads with a guiding hand to the source of strength—Jesus Christ. This devotional will be a staple on my nightstand, serving as a constant reminder to accept my weakness as an opportunity to experience God’s strength.”
—Gretchen Saffles, best-selling author of The Well-Watered Woman, founder of Well-Watered Women

“‘I am weak, but He is strong.’ More times than I can count over the years, I have awakened with that refrain running through my mind. To this day, whenever I feel overwhelmed with a sense of my weakness and inadequacy, that sweet chorus I learned as a child infuses my heart with fortitude and grace. The truth of His unassailable strength and love will do the same for you, as Emily so beautifully reminds us in this book.”
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, author and founder of Revive Our Hearts

“In a culture that prizes strength and prowess, Emily Jensen extends a biblical and welcome invitation to acknowledge our weaknesses in the presence of Christ—the only One who is all-powerful. With theological grounding and practical and poignant insights from her own life, she welcomes her reader to lean on Christ, who knows our weaknesses (and embraces them) better than we do ourselves.”
—Amy Gannett, founder of Tiny Theologians and author of Fix Your Eyes

He Is Strong invited me to humbly consider my weaknesses while leaning into Christ's strength. With engaging stories and Scripture woven throughout, this devotional will encourage the fainthearted with the hope of their strong, steadfast God.”
—Hunter Beless, founder of Journeywomen and author of Read It, See It, Say It, Sing It!

“We are small. We are finite. We are weak. There is no shame—and in fact there is great benefit—in simply admitting what is so demonstrably true. For it is when we admit our weakness that we can turn to God for his strength. That is the theme of this lovely series of reflections, which will bless all who are enduring a period of difficulty, a season of sorrow, or a time of trial. You will learn that you have a powerful Father whose heart is inclined toward you and whose hand is stretched out to bless and strengthen you.”
Tim Challies, author of Seasons of Sorrow

“If I can tell you one thing, it’s that Emily is the friend you want with you in the trenches. She has a knack for pairing gentle insights with powerful gospel truth that leave you feeling both convicted and inspired. I don’t often think about weakness (I tend to be a ‘just push through it’ kinda gal), but I wasn't surprised to find that He Is Strong spoke to some of the most tender parts of my soul. Emily expertly weaves truth, light, and warmth through the entire devotional. You want to savor it, because it’s such a comfort, yet at the same time you want to devour it, because it’s so helpful. I recommend this book for everyone. Don’t miss it.”
—Laura Wifler, author, podcaster, and cofounder of Risen Motherhood

“Lean into the truth of your weakness. Walk that road knowing it is not the only true thing about you, because it isn’t. Your weakness is a gift—an opportunity to lean on the strength of Christ and receive his help. This book will help you do that and point you to the comfort of knowing that you do not walk alone.”
—Russ Ramsey, pastor, author of Rembrandt Is in the Wind
