Israel, My Beloved

By

When Israel, My Beloved first released, it immediately captured the #1 spot on the CBA hardcover fiction bestseller list—and stayed on the list for months. Kay Arthur’s dramatic, epic-style novel is now available in softcover with a beautiful new cover and a historical timeline that corresponds with the fascinating retelling of Israel’s story. History comes alive as Kay begins with the tragic mistakes that led to Israel’s captivity by Babylon and takes readers all the way to the modern-day miracles of triumph against all odds. A heartwarming novel filled with adventure and suspense, Israel, My Beloved is an incredible testimony of God’s great love and faithfulness even in Israel’s darkest hour.

A Word from the Author

"This is a story—an epic—that will impassion your heart...enlighten your understanding...and give you a glimpse into the very certain future just beyond the horizon with the dawning of a new day. It is a story I lived as I wrote it, and my life will never be the same."
Kay Arthur, author of Israel, My Beloved

Editorial Reviews

"Israel, My Beloved transports readers along the paths Jews have walked throughout history, following the life of Sara (also known as Israel).  The story begins with Sara tragically rebelling against her husband and God.  While she pays for the consequences of her sin, she also discovers the power of unconditional love.

Through Sara's story, Kay Arthur covers Jewish life and customs—from the chosen people's rebellion against God in the early Old Testament books to present and prophetic end times.  The book is more historical than fiction.  Maps and diagrams at the beginning of several chapters allow readers to better understand time periods and settings.

At times, Israel, My Beloved may seem overwhelming, with so much history and background in Jewish customs.  This is a book to be savored in smaller bites in order to get the full benefit of the information.

Readers of Israel, My Beloved will gain a deeper understanding of both Jewish and Christian history.  Through the eyes of Sara, readers develop a renewed compassion for the Jewish people and the persecution they have endured."

"The work's greatest strength is the excellent use of research in a well written historical narrative. Colorful description keeps the reader involved in the story, and does not slow the pace with too many details. Characters are well developed, considering many of them appear only briefly in a few chapters.

Israel, My Beloved, takes the reader through Israel's history, while at the same time challenging the reader to consider the type of relationship God desires with his chosen people."

"I can truthfully say that this is the best fiction book (although it is full of history) that I have ever read. I wish Kay had some more of the same type of books. I have read Israel, My Beloved three times and have started on the fourth time. Every time I read it, I learn more. I have just completed a study on the book of Daniel and having read her book helped me with the study—names, dates, etc… A great book."
